Another Saturday

So, I did some more studying yesterday and am doing the same again today...surprise surprise!!! Not much to add but enjoy the pictures...I saw one brown lone cow, another cow feeding its calf, and this big black cow today all on my way home from campus yesterday afternoon and then I sat down at the beach to watch the beautiful sunset!! Overall, a pretty good day!!

Another day of studying

Hey everyone!!!

It is Friday and we have no classes today! It is research day and they are holding different seminars and such on campus which means an extra study day! I really need to learn this anatomy stuff so that is what I will be doing today and then I plan to go into the lab on Sunday to reinforce what I do today. I found a place near where I live that does laundry so I dropped that off this morning and hopefully it all gets back to me this afternoon when I go to pick it up! Mini 1 is 2 weeks away and I am not too worried about it yet though I am sure that will change as the date approaches.

I am currently on the deck outside of Subway on campus and there is an iguana running around up here...if only I had my camera!!

Well I should go and study.

Also,I will be home 7 months from today!!

Whale Watching

Today, I got the chance to go on a whale watching tour! We saw quite a few sperm whales as well as a few dolphins. One of the whales jumped completely out of the water a few times which was totally awesome!! I tried to get some pictures but was only somewhat successful; my camera takes entirely too long to respond! Anyway, it was a great trip and it was nice to get away for a few hours as I am sure that will be happening less and less as the semesters go on. Check out my pictures from today as well as the pictures I have taken of the sunsets. The sunsets are beautiful here and I am trying to make it a point to go out and watch it every night as a way to just relax and have a few minutes completely free of school stuff.

As far as school goes, week one went pretty well and I am getting ready for week two!! The first mini is three weeks from tomorrow so I need to make sure to keep on top of things!!!

Sunsets and Whale Watching

Studying...

So I just studied physiology for the past few hours and decided to take a break before tackling some biochem and anatomy. Luckily, we have no more physiology lectures before the first Mini (test) and everything we were taught was a review for me so I won't have to spend tons more time on it and hopefully I can score really well on that section and boost my grade! I love where I am studying today...outside on a covered patio overlooking the Caribbean. There are several other people here and most are studying but a few are just sitting around talking. This kind of environment is much better for me personally to study in. I hate feeling like I am stuck inside and I hate the silence of studying in a place like the library; I feel bad if I turn a page too loudly or type on my keyboard!

Oh, yesterday I saw my cadaver for the first time. She is this old lady with absolutely NO body fat! Next week we find out the cause of death for all of the cadavers and I get to do my first actual dissection as yesterday our group was only in the lab for ~30 min to get a review from the first group about what they dissected.

Well, I suppose I should get back to studying though the wind is picking up a bit here and making that a bit difficult but at least it keeps it cool out here.

In Dominica

So, I have made it to Dominica and am mostly settled in. I am currently sitting in my room typing this listening to the breeze rustle through the palm tree outside of my room as well as the waves hitting the shoreline at the end of my hall...it is pretty great really! It sure beats the snow and freezing cold temperatures back home in Atlanta!!! Today I went grocery shopping with the parents before they left to head back home and then did some laundry in my sink and will be doing some more later. Lol I also need to do some pre-reading for lecture this week and am going to get out to the beach either today, tomorrow, or both! I am working on posting pictures from Puerto Rico and Dominica and will post them as soon as I get that all figured out!!!
