So, my peds rotation has been over for two weeks and I've been spending that time at home in Georgia with my friends and family. It was great to be home for Thanksgiving with my parents, my brother and his girlfriend, my grandmother, aunt, uncle, and cousin. We had a great meal and it was good spending time with everyone. Somehow, I managed to get through all of peds without getting sick and then Black Friday I wake up with a high fever and just feel crappy. It ended up that I had viral bronchitis so have been taking some cough meds and steroids and am feeling much better though it sucks that I had to miss Black Friday shopping this year!! Luckily, I had gone out with my dad the night before and found a pair of boots that I wanted that my parents went out and bought over the weekend so that was awesome :) I also ended up with some new jeans as well as the new iPhone 5 which my parents got me as an early birthday present! I am definitely loving it and would recommend it to anyone!
As for school stuff, I head back to NYC on Saturday and start my next rotation, Ob/Gyn surgery, on Monday which I am super excited about!! As great a time I have had at home, I am ready to head back to NYC and get back into my own routine.
That's all for now, enjoy, and I will try to update about my Ob/Gyn surgery rotation as well as when my brother and his girlfriend come up to visit me before Christmas!!

Peds
So, I am now 4 weeks into my peds rotation with 2 weeks left. I have been back in Atlanta for this rotation and have been living with my old college roommates. It has been great being back and seeing my friends and family, but it has definitely made me realize that Atlanta is just not the city for me and, as much as I will miss everyone, I am looking forward to going back to NYC in December. As far as peds goes, it has been a pretty good rotation. I am working in an outpatient clinic and so we see fairly common sicknesses and nothing that is too severe. We get to see a lot of patients everyday which is good and gives us a good amount of exposure to different patients. It is a lot of fun seeing kids all day, but I definitely can't see myself going into peds. I'm much more comfortable with the thought of delivering a baby, and then being done with it! Haha
I am trying to finalize my schedule for the next year and if all goes as planned, I should be done with rotations by the end of November next year. After that, I will have to try and find a few different jobs to earn some money so I can continue to pay my rent and start paying back my loans until I start working in July. As for what I have scheduled, I have all of my required electives scheduled and am trying to schedule another 2 to 3 Ob/Gyn electives so hopefully I will hear about those soon.
Also, as far as damage from the hurricane goes, my roommate kept me up to date with the storm and luckily everything in our apartment was fine and the surrounding area was ok and there was never any power loss. Things up there with subways and such are slowly getting back to normal but I continue to keep everyone affected in my thoughts as I know many people were not so lucky.
Thats all for now! I'll try and update again before I head back to NYC!!
