With my first semester of med school!!! I can't believe it!! This semester has gone by sooo fast and while it has been hard, it is over with and, unless something went horribly wrong today, I passed and will be a second semester student when I get back here in 2.5 weeks! Now off to finish packing and then head out and celebrate with some friends tonight!! Tomorrow at this time I will be getting ready to land in Puerto Rico for my overnight and then home the next day!!
Love you all and see you soon!!!

Almost done!!!
So, it is Saturday already, not really sure how that happened! I have my final coming up on Tuesday and am not sure I am ready for it but after three more days of studying all day, I should (hopefully) be ready to tackle it, do decently well on it, and move on and become a second semester student when I get back! I am heading home soon and am so excited though I am trying not to think about it too much right now as it can become quite distracting when trying to study. I took some pictures the other day and would post them now but I left my camera at my apartment so perhaps I will try and post them tonight. Well, I just wanted to give a quick update but for now its back to the books! Can't wait to be home in a few days eating good food and getting to see everyone!!
Also, congratulations to Alayna Moore!!! Can't believe you are getting married today!! Good luck and know that even though I can't be there that I am thinking of you on this wonderful day!!! Hope it is everything you hoped for!!

Studying...again
So classes ended this past Wednesday meaning I have all sorts of "free" time which I can use to study for my upcoming tests. I had one exam today, it was a histology practical. Trying to study for that was like pulling teeth, it is hard getting motivated to look at 1000 microscope slides and identify features on every single one and know what this cell secretes, where this one is, etc. Hopefully I studied well enough to get a decent grade...I felt mediocre after leaving the test so we will see what happens with that. This weekend will be spent studying for my third mini which is on Monday and then after that, I have one week to get ready for my final which is cumulative...not looking forward to that so much. All the upper semester students I have talked to have said that it is best to do really well on this last mini to solidify your grades so that when you are studying for the final, you don't have to stress out too much over it and can really spend time focusing on one class if your grade in that one is lower. So, hopefully I can do just that and do awesome on this mini and not stress too much for the final. As it stands now, I am doing pretty well overall so I am just spending lots of time studying to be sure to solidify the grades I have. We had our anatomy practical last week and that is one class I am struggling a bit in; I ended up getting an A on the practical which was awesome and brought my grade up a few points which was a huge relief!
Well, I should probably get back to studying...
Love you all and will be on a bus to the airport here getting ready to head to Puerto Rico in 11 days, 18 hours, 36 minutes, and 45 seconds...not that I am counting!
Miss you all!!

So Week 12 of classes is over with and I have three days of classes next week, CRAZY!!! I know I said this last time, but I really cannot believe how incredibly fast time flies by here!! 18 days until I head home which is so exciting though I still need to get through 3 more exams before that which means lots of studying in the next 2 and a half weeks. I have a histology practical this coming Thursday, my third mini a week from Monday, and my cumulative final two weeks from Tuesday then I'm out of here on Wednesday!
We had our Anatomy practical this past Thursday which went very well I thought; it was definitely easier than I was expecting which is good because I need to bring my grade in that class up. We haven't gotten our scores back yet but they posted the answers the following day and I think I am going to get either a low A or high B which will be a nice boost to my grade. Hopefully I can get some good studying done and do well on my third mini in all subjects so I don't have to worry too much about the final so we will see how that goes. Otherwise, nothing new here, just lots of studying.
Oh, last night I turned my TV on to a channel I regularly watch that was VH1 a few days ago but it has suddenly become the food network and I was so excited about this, probably more excited than a person should be about things like this but I used to watch this channel all the time at home and didn't get it here until yesterday! Haha
Thats really all that is going on here!
Happy Easter everyone, love and miss you tons!

Another Week
It's Saturday again...crazy how fast time seems to fly here! On Monday, we start week 11 of classes. I have been here for almost 3 months and I truly cannot believe it. TIme really goes by ridiculously fast here which makes being away from home a little easier as it hardly seems like I have really been gone for that amount of time. Hopefully the rest of my semesters on the island go by as fast so I can be back in the states for good!
I am currently studying in a building called the barn which is right next to where I live and trying not to freeze to death in here. You would never believe you were on a tropical island being in here, I literally have jeans and a sweatshirt on and am completely frozen! I may have to invest in a Snuggie when I am home to bring down here! Haha
I went out with some friends last night after we were done doing some studying in the anatomy lab and had the other local Caribbean beer that they have on the island called Carib. For someone who doesn't drink beer, it was decent and only cost 7EC which is a little more than $2.50US...can't beat that.
Thats all for now...Love and miss you all!!! Enjoy this picture taken about a month or so ago of the waves...

Hey
Hello All!!!
Sorry it has been so long but I have been super busy with all my studying. Well, I just took my second test this past Monday and did really well...I got 3 A's and a B. I did not do so well in anatomy but I still have a practical, another test, and a final to bring up my scores so I am not too worried about it, I just need to make sure I study it a little more efficiently. I went to the beach on Tuesday as we didn't have a long day of classes and it was great just to be able to relax a little and not have tons of stuff to study.
Today, a few friends and I took the bus down to Roseau, the capital. It was pretty cool there. There was a cruise ship that was docked so there were tourists everywhere! They all assumed we were on the cruise ship as well so we kept getting bombarded by people wanting to take us on island tours. We did a little souvenir shopping and then went and looked around at the market. There wasn't a ton of stuff there since it was later in the day but it was still pretty cool to see. While we were there, we stopped by this guys truck that was filled with coconuts. He chopped the tops off of them right in front of you and then gave you a straw so you could drink the coconut water. I decided to get one since I have never had coconut water before and it was interesting. I was surprised because it did not at all taste like coconut. It was different and probably not something I'd drink again but it was fun to try it! We wandered around Roseau for a bit longer and went to Astaphan's which is a department store/grocery store and then IGA which is a big grocery store. It was so crazy seeing a store that big after being at school for 2.5 months; all of the stores here are so small!! Another thing that was a little weird was when we were souvenir shopping; all of the prices that were quoted were in US dollars and my friend even got change back in USD. Though we did get a few deals because we paid in EC dollars and not USD so that was nice.
In the next 5 weeks, I have another Mini, a histology practical, an anatomy lab practical, a DPS practical, and a final so I will be in study mode so I can do really well on all of them! I come home in 39 days and I am so excited! I already have a list of foods I want to eat and things I want to do!
That's all for now! I was going to post some pictures but they don't seem to want to upload tonight so I will try and post them tomorrow!
Love and miss you all and I can't wait to be home in 39 days!!!!!
